Eastern Counties Home Improvements have a new additional service to offer customers thinking of making home improvements.
We now have a qualified Occupational Therapist Irene Smith, who can provide a locally based response to assessment and advice on home adaptations and equipment needs for disabled people, or those who are looking to future proof their homes.
Introducing Irene:
As an Occupational Therapist of nearly 20 years’ experience, I believe people with disabilities have enormous potential; and it is the environment that we live in that limits our possibilities.
I also believe in prevention thinking ahead about future needs. Using a person-centred approach, I will provide sound trusted advice to enable you to make choices in the way you wish to live and make the most of your life.
I am offering a Service to people and their carers who wish to make their own arrangements regarding adaptations and equipment.
I will assist people to take control and make informed decisions and avoid making expensive mistakes when purchasing independent living equipment or making an adaptation to their homes. Giving the right advice when you need it.

A small sample of some of our successful adaptations.
Some of the simplest things make the biggest differences. This is an adaptation to create a level access out of a conservatory door. The level threshold was teamed up with a gradually graded block paved patio to enable safe access for the elderly person to get out into the garden again.
